Great Ideas for Purse Parties!
Need some great purse party ideas?
Purse parties, in my opinion, are always a lot of fun. But to make them a little more exciting, I've listed some great theme ideas which are sure to make your party unforgettable!
These are great because they are all pretty easy to pull off and don't require a lot of extra work on your part.
Wine Tasting theme-
Ask each guest to bring a bottle of wine.
They can participate in a wine tasting as they peruse through your purse display and nibble on cheese. ( Make sure you use real wine glasses and not cheap paper cups which will indeed cheapen your whole atmosphere!)
You can find wine glass name tags at a party store. That way your guests won’t get their glasses mixed up which can be really annoying.
A wine tasting theme is particularly successful for an elegant evening party.
Another tip is to dim the lights, light some candles and play nice background music. Make it an elegant affair so that your guests feel pampered.
This is a great way to get everyone relaxed and in a purse buying mood!...which of course is the whole idea!
Mexican Fiesta Theme-
You don't have to go all out here with a Mariachi band and pinatas!
Just decorate your party area with simple streamers and brightly colored Mexican decorations- but don’t over do it, you don’t want to appear tacky.
Since the food should always match the theme, serve chips and salsa and Strawberry Margaritas.
You can pick up a variety of frozen Mexican finger foods at the store (just pop them in the oven) which makes the food prep especially easy.
This theme is a great idea for a summertime purse party and you may even want to hold it outside if the weather permits.
You might even want to employ a babysitter for this one. That way, mothers who normally may not be able to attend are able to bring their kids and not feel rushed to get home.
Make sure the babysitter has enough to keep the kids occupied.
Serve coffeecake, muffins, fruit and coffee.
Have the girls over for a Saturday morning chit chat and shop time. Get caught up on the latest gossip as well as the latest handbag fashions.
A great mother daughter activity too.
Christmas Holiday theme-
Most people already have their houses decorated for Christmas anyway so you don’t need to worry about extra decorations.
Serve Christmas cookies and eggnog and play a few Christmas themed games.
Most people will be interested in purchasing handbags to give as Christmas gifts. So, you could offer a discount if your guests purchase multiple items.
Remember to plan it far enough in advance from Christmas so that they will have the time to come.
Happy Hour theme-
This one works really well as an open house party where your guests can come directly after work.
They can shop and leave whenever they are ready. They won’t feel pressured to stay for a full 2 hour party but the object is to get them to stay as long as possible!
Prepare cool drinks like margaritas or daiquiris and great little finger foods like mozzarella cheese sticks(which can be purchased frozen at the store and ready to go) and vegetables with dip.
Hire a masseuse to give chair massages, or a nail tech to give pedicures.
Your friends will have a ball letting their hair down after a long day at work.
Remember to light candles and play relaxing music. They’ll never want to go home!
